βIs she peeing enough?β
Itβs 2 a.m., your baby has been sick for days, and the pediatrician said to watch the wet diapers. BabyHydrate holds that vigil with you: log a wet diaper in one tap and see β at a glance β how the counts compare against cited, age-banded pediatric thresholds.
The Watch screen β one card answers the question, one tap logs the diaper.
A status computed from your timestamps β against cited pediatric thresholds
BabyHydrate never asks you to judge how your baby is doing. It computes time since last wet diaper and the rolling 24-hour count from the timestamps you log, compares them with published, age-banded pediatric thresholds, and re-derives the status continuously against the clock. It can only escalate β nothing in the app can set a safer status by hand.
βCounts within thresholds β keep watching.β The numbers are inside the cited range for this age. The When-to-call card stays one tap away.
βFewer wet diapers than usual.β A threshold has been approached or crossed on the cautious side β keep offering fluids and keep logging.
The pattern matches what pediatric guidance says to call about. The app prompts you to call β it never diagnoses, and calling is never gated.
Sources, cited and dated in-app: thresholds based on guidance from AAP / HealthyChildren.org, Nationwide Childrenβs Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, CHKD, and the Canadian Paediatric Society β reviewed June 2026. Unknown age? The app uses the most conservative band (0β3 months) until you confirm.
Everything one-handed, in the dark, half asleep
No onboarding, no lifestyle dashboard. One anxiety, owned end-to-end.
One-tap wet-diaper logging
Wet is exactly one tap from the main screen, with a haptic confirm. Stool (normal / loose / watery), vomit, fluids, and temperature are at most two. Undo is one tap β nothing is irreversible.
A status that follows the clock
Time passing is data. The status re-derives every minute against the wall clock, so a card can escalate with zero taps from you β it never silently goes stale.
Threshold-crossing alert β free
One local notification scheduled at the exact moment the next cited threshold would be crossed (βNo wet diaper logged in 6h β check on baby and logβ). Safety alerts are never paywalled.
Episode trend & doctor hand-off
Start an illness watch and see wet diapers per day across the whole episode β the dangerous downward trend a single 24-hour number hides. Export a day-by-day summary for the pediatrician visit.
Nursery Mode β free
The 3 a.m. feature: near-black screen, minimal light, an oversized βtime since last wetβ and a huge Wet button in thumb reach. Low-light usability is safety, not polish.
In your language β free
English, Romanian, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. Pick your language in Settings and the whole app β plus the widgets and the reminders β switches instantly. Defaults to your iPhone's language.
Overnight Watch Pro
A Lock-Screen Live Activity keeps βtime since last wetβ counting up all night without unlocking your phone β a glanceable companion to the free threshold alert, which always remains the safety mechanism.
Nursery Mode β near-black, one thumb, as little light as possible.
Nursery Mode
Youβre holding a feverish baby in a dark room. The last thing you need is a flashlight of a phone screen.
- One tap from the Watch screen (a moon icon) β and the app suggests it automatically at night.
- Near-black background, dimmed amber palette, minimal luminance β independent of system dark mode.
- Oversized numbers and buttons β βtime since last wetβ and the Wet button live in the bottom half, reachable one-handed.
- Free forever. Low-light usability is part of the safety core, so it will never move behind the paywall.
Data Not Collected β everything stays on your phone
You install BabyHydrate mid-panic, about your childβs health. That is exactly when an app should want nothing from you. BabyHydrate is local-only by design β your log never leaves your device unless you choose to share an export yourself.
The safety core is free. Pro buys convenience.
Everything that keeps a parent safe β logging, the status engine, thresholds, the When-to-call card, emergency calling, the threshold alert, Nursery Mode, and plain exports β is free, forever. Pro is a single $12.99 one-time purchase (no subscription), and it never stands between a scared parent and the phone.
